Win the Button Tournaments
« on: July 03, 2012, 04:34:18 PM »
These seem new and interesting. I read an article about a friend of mine from Vancouver winning one. I am not that familiair with the structure itself and I'm wondering if anyone has more info. Couldn't find answers to my questions on Google.
The basic premise is that if you win the hand, you win the button as well. A couple of question I had were:
Do the blinds rotate normally or are they reset with the button?
In a split pot who gets the button?
Antes? Or does that defeat the purpose?
Tournament structure? I would imagine that it would have to be a more turbo like structure to induce play if the blinds do not rotate.
Anybody played in one of these?

Spence,
I've never seen it, or heard of it. What would be the advantage of the button if the blinds didn't reset along with it? I can't imagine a tournament like this ever gaining popularity. Split pot could either be determined by the highest ranking card (by suit), or only one winner pots qualify. Are you sure this was a tournament?
