Misdeal at Blind level up

19: New Hand & New Limits
When time has elapsed in a round and a new level is announced by a member of the tournament staff, the new level applies to the next hand. A hand begins with the first riffle. If an automatic shuffler is being used, the hand begins when the green button is pushed.

In the midst of the dealer sending out the first round of cards, the TD calls for the blinds to increase on the next hand. Before completion of the dealout the dealer causes a misdeal. Would you have the players post the increased level or leave the blinds as they were before the mideal?

Why increase the blinds and limit because of a dealer mistake? A misdeal should be a re-deal of the last hand where the mistake was made.

Agree.  I would "re-deal"... which means the same conditions as the last hand.

Hi Spence,

Blinds stay as they were during the misdeal, the first riffle of the misdeal market the start of the hand, not the first riffle of the re-deal.

Stu

I'm glad we all agree on this one. I was worried that someone might have a more strict interpretation of the rules. I clashed with another member of staff about this and said it was unethical to raise the blinds when it was the dealers error. He didn't seem to want to sway from his opinion.
