8-Handed

SIT 1 NOBODY
SIT 2 BB

During the hand a player from a broken table is placed in Sit 1

Before the next hand start, sit 7 and  sit 8  are eliminated.

Next hand?

Rule 10 - Breaking Tables:
Players from a broken table will be assigned new tables and seats by a 2-step random process. They can get any seat including small or big blind or the button and be dealt in except between the SB and button. See Illustration Addendum.
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown.
But how much does it cost to knock on wood?

Hello,

This seems like a between button and SB situation.
BTN advance to Seat 8
Seat 2 is SB
Seat 3 is BB

After seat 7 and 8 are eliminated, the button moves to seat 1 and seat 2 becomes the SB.

While the player in seat 1 was expecting to be skipped for the next hand, once seat 8 is eliminated, seat 7 (ok, 6)  gets an unfair advantage of being the button twice. Combine this with the disadvantage of seat 1 missing a hand, allowing seat 1 to be the button is an obvious option that is supported by rule 10.

Note: the fact that seat 7 was also eliminated is irrelevant.

For the record, I used to believe that seat 1 would be skipped the next hand in the situation. Then I started to think about it, and checked the rules. Bingo, rule 10.
