Poker TDA Rules & Procedures Questions, General / Re: 4 burn cards again!
« Last post by Nick C on November 27, 2023, 11:59:33 AM »
Hello, Guillaume...

I have a couple questions that I'd like to ask you before I tell you what I would have done.

First of all, if your players were okay with your decision, it was the right thing to do.

Consider this: If the two remaining players acted after the final board card (the river) was on the table, I would have considered substantial action and the hand would play.

However, In your situation, I believe the all in occurred earlier in the hand, therefore I could agree with your call to redeal the hand.

Poker TDA Rules & Procedures Questions, General / 4 burn cards again!
« Last post by Guillaume Gleize on November 26, 2023, 12:54:00 PM »
Hello,
This one is hard and really happened!
Final heads up > All-in & call > The Dealer reveals the full board (the all-in player double up).
BUT > Before giving the pot to anybody, he and the full table and the spectators realize that 4 cards had been burned!

The burned cards was on the side and in order of arrival (like the board) but NO WAY to know if the double burned was before the flop, the turn or the river!
Because of the very numerous mathematical solutions : I choose to cancel the hand! I know the TDA rules but didn't know how to apply them here? Any idea?

PS > Please only solutions > No lessons on how to manage dealers etc.
TY in advance - GG

General discussion of poker industry topics / Re: 2024 Summit

Since Black Friday hotel and air fares are almost upon us, I thought I’d ask again. After all, not everyone that wants to attend has an expense account for this type of thing.

Any idea when the next summit will be?

Poker TDA Rules & Procedures Questions, General / Re: Boxed card at deck cutting

Hi Dave,
Now you stated it, that makes totally sense, since the first card that would have been dealt would have been exposed.

I was wondering if boxed card thing would take priority or not over exposed card statement.

Thank you for clearing the field

Live Cash Game Rules Questions / Re: Forward motion, spilling out chips and straddle

To OP
IMO dropping a bet one chip at a time should be considered as a string bet. If you don't know how many chips will drop you can't allow a valid raise here.
If the player retains some chips in his hand, the hand can be considered as part of the player stack which allow to rule as a string bet.

General discussion of poker industry topics / 2024 Summit
« Last post by Dave Miller on August 31, 2023, 03:02:10 PM »
I know it’s a bit early, and I’m not sure if this is the place to post this, but…

I’m betting there’s going to be a Summit in 2024, but has any discussion of the dates happened yet?

I’ve never gone, but I always wanted to. One of the things holding me back was the relatively late notice about when it will be, and the airfare involved. Where is irrelevant, assuming it’s going to be somewhere on the strip…

Thanks

W0lfster,

if I'm following you correctly...when the BB goes bust and on the next hand rebuys he would simply post the small.

I believe you are refering to the BB busts, misses the next hand and then rebuys. I believe he must wait 2 hands for the button to pass and then post a dead SB... meaning he would have to put in the "full" amount of the bet he is facing. His SB is part of the pot, but not recognized as part of his bet.

I hope this helps.

If you sent me an email...I never recieved it.  Here is my email address: nickcav123@yahoo.com

Hi Nick,

Yes well I can’t view it and no problem, I sent my email and private messages you, do you have it?

Thanks.

Also to mention, what happens if say the BB goes bust and then buys back in, if buy the button is not allowed then they wait for the button to pass. Once the button passes once and they are in any position other than the BB, SB and button do they only post the SB to be dealt in and only make up another SB when the action is on them to call the BB?
