I played in a stud tournament at a neighboring casino and some confusion arose concerning the bring in players option to raise. The bring in could come in for a full bet but did not. The next player completed and when it came back to the bring in he tried to raise and was told he could not because the supervisor said the completion bet was not considered a raise in their room. The supervisor said the completer could have completed and raised (bring in was $25, completion was $100) to $200 which would have reopened it to the bring in but since the completion to $100 was ruled to be technically not a raise the bring in player could only call. Some players at the table remarked stud rules vary depending on the room. I kept my mouth shut but did some research and found that in some rooms the 2nd player to act had to either fold, complete the bet to $100, or raise to $200 but could NOT just call the bring in at $25. Other places, yes, he could call the bring in at $25 or complete to $100 or depending on the room raise to $200. Some places the option of raising to $200 was not there. Confused? Me too. What are the rules in your room?
