Hello everyone, we wanted to let all of our customers know that a new version of "The Clock" Pro Edition poker tournament software is now available, as you may want to consider the upgrade.  This is actually the first time in its 14 year history that we will be charging a small upgrade fee ($200) for our poker tournament clock as the changes to this release are quite significant (if you are currently using version 5.x then the upgrade is free - to check which version you have, from the main menu click on the Help menu item at the top of the screen).  But the bad news is there is no easy path to move your current data from older versions to the latest version.  You will have to either do it manually (maybe a good opportunity to clean up your event structures, etc.) or we can do it for you but for an extra fee: http://tournamentclock.com/index_files/upgradeprobuy.htm  If you currently use Club Edition then there is also an upgrade available to the latest Pro Edition, contact me for details.

New in this release:
1) Multiple group payout sets: before you could only create one set of payouts in “group payouts”.  Now you can enter up to 5 sets of payouts to better handle different types of events (such as Stud where payouts are based on 8 players to a table rather than 9 or 10 for Holdem).

2) Flights: Flights was significantly changed so that you can now enter multiple day 1’s (1A, 1B, etc.)  and the clock will keep track of the number of entries, rebuys, etc.  It will not display any prize information until you run Day 2, at which point it will accumulate all of the Day 1 flights into one.  (You can also have flights for Day 2 and beyond if it is a particularly large event).

3) Mixed events such as H.O.R.S.E. can now loop on each game in each level in the poker tournament timer screen.  So, for example, if you are running HORSE and Level 1 is set for 30 minutes, but the game changes every 8 hands, then the countdown clock will run as normal, but the display will show each of the 5 games for 5 seconds each, in rotation during that level.  Also Badugi has been added as a mixed game option.

4) Networking: You can now store all of your clock data in one place on your network (which is much more convenient for backups).  Each individual PC that is running a clock can share that data.  This means you could start an event on one PC, then later switch to another PC and the event would continue from exactly where you left it.  You can also restart any previous event from where it last ended (in previous releases only the last event you ran was remembered).  So for example if you have an event that continues the next day, you could run other events in the meantime and it would still remember the 2 day event.

5) Clock 2 running on the same PC is now fully upgraded to the features of the main clock, including remembering where it was last stopped.

6) Color change is now available for the prize payout display to make for a more pleasing look to the clock screen.

7) Bounties can now be included when setting up events.

"The Registration" poker tournament registration software is now out of Beta testing (thank you to all of those who participated in the testing) and available for sale.  "The Registration" is an extra cost option that is fully integrated with "The Clock" poker tournament timer. (Prices and Club vs Pro differences are listed here: http://tournamentclock.com/index.htm ). Details are available on the web site ( http://tournamentclock.com/index_files/registration.htm ) but of course please feel free to contact me here in this forum if you have questions.

Thanks very much, and Happy New Year to you all.

Paul

This is an excellent clock and is the one Card Player Cruises (and I, personally) have used exclusively for years. It was the tournament clock of all of the Party Poker Million events as well as all of the Eureka and Oasis Open events in Mesquite, NV. Paul, the owner and creator of the clock is easy to work with and will personally guide you if you run into any problems or have questions. Very easy to do business with this site. I personally recommend it.
