Chips missing from stack how do you deal?
« on: September 29, 2010, 08:43:24 AM »
I would like peoples opinion on how they would deal with this situation in general

the tournament is coming off a break and a player complains that he has less than he should, his chip count before the break was 12,000 and when he returned he claims his chips are now 10,500.

How would you deal with this?

Regards
Stuart

Too late to do anything now. Pre-break you could get players to the left of other players to count and write their chip count on a piece of paper and then confirm the correct amount on the return to the table. The only other way I know is to insist that everyone leaves the tables during break - no chips to be taken away from the table - and players cannot return until the official start time.
Best,

I would agree there, I take it there are no camera that can help with this?

Yeh i've said the same.  I don't see how we can be running to racks and placing more chips into the tourney - even if it is in good faith, no camera's present Lewis so yeh, I think it is a case of ensuring players are away from the tables during break periods.

It has happened to me a few times :-(
The good thing is that once players know to look out for this sort of stuff it's amazing how someone always seems to spot the culprit.

Hi fellows,

Where was the dealer? In most cases the dealers stay at the tables during the break. This is when they reset the decks and clean up around the table. No one should be able to take chips with a dealer there watching.

Good Luck,

These are games where the players deal - there are no dealers.
