Boxed card at deck cutting
« on: March 31, 2023, 02:23:42 AM »
Hello folks,

Here is a situation.
After taking deck out of the shuffling machine, dealer put the deck on the table. They cut and discover a boxed card on the remaining half.
Dealer leaves everything at is and calls the floor.

What do we do ?

Kudos to the dealer for doing the right thing: Nothing - just call the floor. 👍

Without bothering to look for a rule, I would say that since no cards were dealt, just wash the deck, reshuffle and move on.

Or, since by the time the floor gets there, the shuffle machine is probably done with the other deck, so just wash the bad deck, swap them, and move on.
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown.
But how much does it cost to knock on wood?

Hi Dave,
Now you stated it, that makes totally sense, since the first card that would have been dealt would have been exposed.

I was wondering if boxed card thing would take priority or not over exposed card statement.

Thank you for clearing the field
