BB advancing or not
« on: July 22, 2022, 03:01:37 AM »
Hello!
Here is the situation:
A - Dealer
B - SB
C - Empty
D - BB
E - UTG
etc ...
D is eliminated and two new players arrive on C and D
So now is it:
B - Dealer
C - SB
D - BB
E - UTG
etc ?
So the player E is UTG twice and the BB stays at seat D (with a new player)?
TY in advance - GG

You can't come in as a small blind.

Therefore, I believe both new players need to wait two hands while E is the BB, then SB, and B is the Dealer twice.

However, in the pub league where I deal, where it's short stack turbo, in the interest of allowing players to play, B is dealer, C would be BB and D is UTG.
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown.
But how much does it cost to knock on wood?

Hello Dave,
I saw this case officially during an EPT in London!
I made the remark and they confirmed me the point. But I was sure there was some different opinion like your's LOL!
For I used to make both new players wait but ONLY ONE HAND here so:
B - Dealer
C - Wait
D - Wait
E - BB
Then ...
C - Cut Off
D - Dealer (dead button rule)
E - SB
F - BB

Hello guys.

Sure, you can come in as a SB as stated in rule 10 :
10: Breaking Tables
Players from a broken table will be assigned new tables and seats by a 2-step random process. They can
get any seat including small or big blind or the button and be dealt in except between the SB and button.

So in that case :
B - Dealer
C - SB
D - BB
E - UTG
Tolérons l'excellence, acceptons la perfection.

Hello,
I saw many cases by many professionals all over the world - Matter of taste I suppose - As usual (and from long years) I support the TDA so will follow the majority of their members (if any majority lol)! That's the goal of the TDA: To try to make a majority in a world very split by the rules.
So I like
B - Dealer
C - SB
D - BB
E - UTG
But will follow it only if any other managers agree here.

You can't come in between the button and sb, where you would change the order of the blinds.
In some cases as stated in this post you can come in on the blind.

In this case C was empty therefore whoever enters on that place can't play.
