If a player is disqualified from the tournament. What is done with his token? Do they chips remain or be removed from the tournament?

I have seen Matt Savage comment on this recently on twitter and he said whether he would pay them or not would depend on the severity of the infraction.  He did not elaborate further.

My take on his comment without knowing precisely what he meant is that if it's enough to earn them removal from the casino (banned) they would not get paid; otherwise they would.  I would like to see others takes on this.
