Terence,

The dealer "push" refers to the dealer moving from one table to another. Most cardrooms will move dealers through a "rotation" of tables at 30 minute intervals. Example: Three tables, four dealers...one dealer is on a break with the other dealers are seated. After 30 minutes the dealer on break will "push" the others to the next table. Table 1 dealer goes to table 2, table 2 dealer goes to table 3 and table 3 dealer goes on a break! That's it.

Hope this helps explain the situation.

Google it.

Christian Scalzi is/was a European WPT TD. Of course, that still doesn't explain the random reference...

Sorry, but I maintain it was a random reference.

When the first responder to your thread didn't know who you mean, and I actually had to Google it, it's random.

No offense the gentleman you're talking about. The offense was the reference without explanation.

Hi Dave,

You want to write a book on that ? lol

I was just thinking you know Christian ... that's all ... also you know that he has worked on TDA translation ...

Maybe you don't know how difficult is to translate english sometimes and poker rules with all the vocabulary and different strange meanings of common words ... as " the push " ... obviously his help is precious for me.

Friendly regards.

I totally get what you're saying and appologize if you took any offense personally.

For the record, I'm not a casino employee. I believe I ended up asking what a push meant after hearing it multiple times. Frankly, I would have used a term like switch or rotation. But at least in the U.S., we're stuck with push.

Interestingly, it makes me think about the places where that phrase is used in the rules, and forces me to start a new thread about it.
