Hello,
So as I read the new RP-20: Cards Ready for Shuffle
"At the start of the tournament of ending of a break, within one minute of starting or resuming play,
the floor should announce "dealers prepare your decks". When at least 2 players are at the table,
the dealer will wash and square the deck, to be ready for shuffle when the level starts."

So it's no more three players to start and two to resume but always two players in both case now ... right?

Hi,

Guillaume, the ROPTA (on ffpoker.org) follows the TDA Rules with an adaptation to self dealing. We follow the full ante rule for years without any problem with our club players.

(we can discuss about that in french in private if you want !)

To be said > When I write "My Supervisor prefers to keep it" I mean he prefers to KEEP THE REDUCTION RULE.
He accepts to follow the new BB First rule but he wants his players to only pay the half BBA when reduced to half table until the final heads up.

Lol. I'm in the ante first camp too, but I relented.

Frankly, the slight benefit that the short stack player gets from doing it BB first isn't worth the argument.

Both the BB Ante and regular ante are designed to add pressure as the game progresses. Therefore, the amounts are irrelevant and shouldn't change based on the number of players.

The BB Ante is designed to remove the problem of determining which player forgot to ante up, as well as enable removing the smallest chips sooner.

Since neither of these issues are a problem with electronic / online poker, standard antes will probably remain the norm on those systems.

The only point is the REDUCTION of the BB Ante when the tables are half empty en less > My Supervisor prefers to keep it!
He was also for the Ante First when not enough chips but (sadly) accepted to follow the world majority on that point.

TY for your answer (mostly about the main tournaments: I couldn't find their written rules about this specific point)!

I'm managing in France with Winamax tournaments up to 1800 or 2500 live players but in self-dealing qualifying events.
We usually follow the TDA but on that point my supervisor (I'm the general TD) absolutely wants to keep the reduction to please the players who are amateur club players for the majority. I understand and will follow him (he is the one paying me lol) but with your help I have now arguments to try to make him change his mind in the next tournaments and to explain our differences to the players if they ask.

Yes. That's EXACTLY what that means. The casinos around you are doing it wrong.

Why should the next big blind player benefit with a reduced ante because someone got knocked out?

While the BB Ante is designed to eliminate the individual ante, the amount paid is not correlated to the number of players who now don't pay individual antes. Nor should it be.
