Title: All in as a blind and no longer at the table

If a player has left the table and is now all in for his blind or ante, I believe his hand is dead when the last card hits the button (despite being all in). Correct? Thanks!

Lol.  I can't believe it!  :).

I agree as well. 

I think once upon a time, a player may have been allowed to have his end play at showdown even if he was absent and/or play the board without his hole cards...?  But that was long ago and I am not even sure I am remembering that correctly.

Seriously, there are many that will still argue this point. Ken, you are correct. If you search this forum, you will find arguments that insist the all-in can not be killed!
Where are they when you're looking for a good debate?

Nick:  If a player is not "at his seat" by the time the last down card has been dealt, I will always kill that hand.  At the same time, if a player is not at his seat when it is his/her turn to act, I will always kill that hand.  It matters not one speck to me whether that player is "all-in" or not, nor does it matter if that player is the big blind.

If you are not at your seat when it is your turn to act, your hand is dead.  I have no patience for players who stall or otherwise hold up the game.  Especially in a tournament, where other tables keep going and one table is not getting as many hands in play because of some yo-yo's antics.

Chiming in to say I agree.  The player not being at the table when the last card is dealt to the button will cause his hand to be killed right away.

 I agree. I was merely making reference to the contradictions from past post's, when everyone was saying the dealer must turn the hand  (of the absent all-in)over. It was ridiculous then, and still is. The hand should be killed as soon as the last down card reaches the button, just like we all agreed to.

Also agree however I instruct my dealers to kill the hand by touching it into the muck before the showdown, and then showing it down, to satisfy both "at your seat" and "face up for all-ins"

Interesting, Stuart!  If you're waiting til showdown to muck, what are you allowing if the player suddenly  returns before showdown? Or are you saying you touch it to the muck immediately and then wait til showdown to turn it up?

player is all-in absent, deal cards out, touch them into muck immediately, then table at correct showdown time.
