I knew a similar thread exists http://www.pokertda.com/forum/index.php?topic=263.0 (http://www.pokertda.com/forum/index.php?topic=263.0) and although I believe I understand the consensus of the responses matches up with my view on the matter, I thought this was an important enough topic to warrant another view (also, that poll did not include what I believe was the correct answer).
On the flop, player A bets $30, player B raises to $130, player C goes all-in for $198. Player A asks "what's the minimum amount I can raise it to?".
I'll allow you guys to respond first before I tell you the floorperson's call, and what I believe to be the correct amount.

I posted this in "general" and not live, because it pertains to NL in general, and should be universal between live and tournaments. I'm 100% sure what the correct answer is, but would like to have the discussion to make sure everyone's on the same page.

I'll say a $100 raise to $298 because the all-in raise was only $68.

Player A Bets 30, Player B Raises to 130 total (A raise of 100) player c goes all-in with an action only 198 (a non-full raise of 68) therefore options open to player a are: Call 198, Fold, raise a minimum of 298 total (198+100)
so to sum up, ditto Nicks response.

I agree with Nick and Stuart, and my ruling would have been $298 as well. The floor and dealers that day came up with the number of $230 saying that a minimum raise would have been to complete the short all-in, which I knew to be incorrect and without basis in NL (and also incorrect even if it were Limit since the all-in was more than 50%).

Question, Now if Player C went all in for $140, when what will be Player A option.

The MINIMUM raise by Player A would be $240. The 50% rule does not apply since this is a No-Limit game.

And add, Player A may Call (For a total $140), Raise (For a minimum total $240) or Fold.
Incidentally, if Player A chooses to Call or Fold, then Player B does not get the option to Raise.
