Hello guys lil question for you all to ponder....
We all know how to balance tables, big blind is moved to the worse possible position etc. However several times (tonight included) I have moved a big blind into the next worse position which means he had an extra 3/4 hands until his big blind is due. In this situation seat 4 was due the SB and seat 5 the BB, the next free seat was 8 so the player I moved got an extra 4 hands.
There are a few options that I can see here:
1) We do nothing and accept that this is the was it happens some times
2) We use common sense and move a player 4 hands away from the BB into a seat 4 hands away from the BB
3) We get people to move along one seat to free up the BB for the new player
Annnnnnnnnd now discuss........

I vote for the first option, that we do nothing and leave the rule as it is.
It makes no difference what "system" one chooses to use, there will be times when the "system" does not work as intended.
So unless someone can make a very convincing case for a better "system/process", I say leave well enough alone. Pretty short, but that is the way I feel about it.
Hope this helps!

i'm with chet Lewis,
the system we use is simple, effective and guarantees that a player will not be unfairly disadvantaged by a balance, their position can only improve.

Agreed, we do nothing and accept what it is. The reason we move worst to worst is so that IF a player gets the best of it, it's the player who is also getting the worst of it by being moved to a table where he knows nothing and has no history. In the greater scheme of things, it all evens out.

Thanks.... it's good to be back. I've been traveling so much and having so many other projects.... and am headed out again for most of the rest of the month. I may be away from my desk but the news always gets back to me!

Hello,
A funny "official" answer I heard once: "it's the players responsibility to win enough chips in case their table is close and they have to move from a BB to another BB position!"
I love this rude game ... maybe because he is rude!
