Hello folks,
Here is a case I recently heard about
Last 4 players remaining are on break and chiprace will remove 10K chips (Yes, 10K)
This set of chips uses 10K, 25K, 100K (5K are already raced)
Players A B C have 30K in 10K chips
Players D has 40K in 10K chips
For a total of 130K you have to share into 25k
How would you do it ? =)
Cheers

I would treat it as if we were chipping up 5K chips to 25K.
Players A, B, C and D each get a 25K chip.
Players A, B, C each have one 5K chip left and get dealt one card. Player D has three 5K chips left and gets dealt 3 cards.
The two highest cards dealt each receive 25K.

That is the solution I offered afterwards but I would have given only one 25K chip on the draw. (4x25K paid to players, 30K left)

With 30K left, it seems logical to me to give only one 25 K chip as 30/25 < 1.5. So I don't understand the "2 chips" ruling !

How many 25K chips would you award if there was only one 10K chip left?
-
None.

You say the 5k chips were already raced off. WHEN? If they were raced off on a previous break, I’m having difficulty understanding how the betting proceeded with only 10K and 25K chips ... seems that there would be problems making change during betting action etc since 25 is not a multiple of 10. If the 5k Chips were raced off during this break period, then I think there should have been a combined race, treating the 10K chips as two 5k chips. For example, if a player has one 5k Chip and one 10k chip,, then consider that player to have 3 5k chips and deal that player 3 cards during the race off. ....

5k have been raced after 20k/40k blind level, chipcount was something around 15M chips.
Then
25k/50k
30k/60k
40k/80k
50k/100k
Easy to put the change when you have at least 4 full stacks of each denomination =)

None.
Would you bust the players who only had 10K left?

Obviously we can't bust a player who lost on the chip race, I know you know it, so to answer the question : this player gets an extra 25K chip in replacement of their 10K chip.

And of course, all players should be treated equally.
