Title: Entry or Registering
Post by: Guillaume Gleize on May 26, 2014, 03:54:18 AM
Hello!

Simple question please:

In english poker vocabulary: Is there a difference between "Late Registering" and "Late Entries"?
I mean can I write "The tournament accept "Late Entries" until de 3rd round as I would say "Late Registering" with the same meaning?

TY - GG

Late entries and late registrants are the same.

The tournament accepts late entries until the end of the 3rd round.
The tournament accepts late registrants until the end of the 3rd round.
The tournament allows registration until the end of the 3rd round.

TYVM Tristan!

To be said: I try those days to correct many errors made a few years ago when they first translated the poker vocabulary in French and that now stay as habits! I mean even if people discover that a translation is wrong, they go: "We know it GG but now from 10 years the French understand it this way so let's stay!" ... It works until we organize some open events with foreign guests!
