Rule 39: Binding Declarations / Undercalls in Turn
Example 1: NLHE, blinds 1000-2000. Post-flop, Alice opens for 2000, Bobby raises to 8000, Charlie pushes out 2000 silently. Charlie has undercalled Bobby’s bet. Per Rule 39-B, because Bobby is not the opener (Alice is) and the round is still multi-way, at TD’s discretion Charlie may be required to make a full call or allowed to forfeit the 2000 undercall and fold.
Example 2: NLHE, blinds 1000-2000. Post-flop, players Alice, Bobby, and Charlie remain. Alice opens for 8000, Bobby silently pushes out 2000. Per Rule 39-B, Bobby has undercalled the opening bet and must make a full call of 8000. Action continues with Charlie.
Example 3: NLHE, blinds 1000-2000. Post-flop, Alice opens for 2000, Bobby raises to 8000, Charlie declares “call”. Per Rule 39-A, Charlie has made a general verbal declaration (“call”) in turn. Charlie is obligated to call Bobby’s full bet of 8000.
