Run it once, twice three times four times etc

(1/2) > >>

W0lfster:
Hello, I am posting here the same question I posted in the TDA tournament forum, but as this is for non tournaments I hope to get my answer clearer this time, thank you.

After watching High Stakes Poker, can I please have a ruling on what happens when the deck runs out of cards when running the board multiple times. I have looked in RROP and found nothing on this rule. What also is the limit to the amount of times you can run it? Also is it true that the last card cannot be dealt anyway? If so whats the rule in this situation?

Also, once the river is dealt can you run it multiple times also? And are you raked for each time you run it multiple times, examples would be nice please.
It would be much appreciated.
Thank you  Smiley

In my opinion, Running it twice, thrice or however many times is an aberration to the game of poker.  There is no "standard" to govern this type of activity, hence you won't find it in RRoP or anywhere else that I am aware of.

Therefore, I go back to the old fashioned way of doing things.  IF and HOW your card room/casino, etc., want to handle this type of activity is up to the HOUSE RULES.  These rules can be written to disallow or allow such, and if allowed, how often etc.

Another course of action is for the house rule to say there is no rule and how such requests are resolved will be up to the players at the table at the time the request is made.

By the way, again in my opinion, this is no different than the players agreeing to pay a bonus for winning with 7, 2 or 10, 2 or whatever.

If you don't know how to write sample house rules, I think a Google search may turn up something, at least it would be a place to start.

W0lfster:
So are you saying the house can decide what the maximum amount of times you can run it for?

chet:
Yes, that is what I am saying, OR the house can decide not to allow such foolishness at all, OR the house can decide to let the players decide.

W0lfster:
But what about rake for the pot, are you raked for each time you run it or for the whole pot? Even though its been divided.

Also if the players agree to run it 3 times and the pot cannot be divided into three pots exactly how would you manage with the excess chips?
