I’ll just repeat what I said earlier:
I defy you to show me a rule that discusses “equity”.
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown.
But how much does it cost to knock on wood?

In the final scenario the equities and expected outcome can vary wildly.

But, that fact and the overall odds of those variances occurring is known when the decision is made and should be factored in to that decision.

In the end, it's your club and your rules. But, I disagree with the rationale.  If the players want to bet whether the turn will be a black card, I'm not going to prevent them from making the bet pre-flop only because the flop would certainly affect the odds.

The problem is that allowing the main pot to be ran twice ignores the fact that this pot was not heads up and the equities are very different.

However, the odds of it becoming heads-up is known and should be considered (not ignored).

That proves nothing. We are dealing with a level of detail not usually seen in any rule set. For instance none of the TDA rules have an impact on the equity of a hand. If there was a set of good rules regarding running it once they would almost certainly either mention equity of implicitly reference it.

I posted the same question on 2+2 - https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/casino-amp-cardroom-poker/running-twice-question-1715632/#post53971588

I think now that most places sidestep this issue by insisting that all participants in the pot agree to run it twice.

Pokerstars: https://www.pokerstars.eu/poker/products/run-it-twice/

"When no further betting is possible in a hand on eligible tables, and all remaining players have enabled Run It Twice, any remaining community cards will be dealt twice on separate boards"

WSOP 2017 live rules: https://www.wsop.com/2017/WSOP%202017%20Live%20Action%20Rules.pdf

"214. Participants are allowed to run it twice or three times in all time raked flop games and $5-$10 No-Limit Hold’Em games, if suggested by a
participant and agreed to by all participants remaining in the pot. "
