2 new players sit down in between button and SB
« on: January 06, 2016, 10:08:14 PM »
We use a dead button in our cash games.

If a new player sits down between the Button and SB we offer them the chance to buy the button, if 2 players join at the same time, both seats are between the button and SB, can both be dealt in that hand and who posts what?

Cheers

The first player has first option to buy. If he buys, the second player is out one hand and can buy on the next hand.

If the first player decides to wait one hand, the second player gets the option to buy immediately.
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown.
But how much does it cost to knock on wood?

Ok, but if payer 1 "buys the button" can player 2 then decide that he wants to straddle... if yes... what happens at the next hand ?  I think player 1 becomes button (of course) and player 2 (who straddled on the last hand) NOW has to buy the button... yes ?

You're line of thinking is correct, but you should have continued the thought process.

You're right that in that scenario player 2 would be forced to buy the button on the second hand. But since you can't force a player to do that, nor can you allow him to declare intentions for future hand, he must sit out the first hand.
