Title: run it 3 times problem
Post by: W0lfster on April 18, 2011, 01:54:22 AM
NL Holdem cash game, blinds 5/10 and there are 3 players all in. The pot count comes to exactly 1000. At this point on the flop the All n players all decide to run the turn and river three times. What I find hard to understand is how do you split the pot into three? Because that would make each split 333.33 and there is no .33 as no cents are involved in the game just dollar chips. Procedure anyone?

Thx :)

333, 333 and 334.  Use the same rule followed by your house when splitting pots with an odd chip.

Thanks Chet, so basically the odd chip left of the dealer?

If that is the same rule followed by your house when splitting pots with an odd chip, then yes.

The only thing I can add is if the game is a high low split, the odd chip goes to the high hand. No matter how many times you run it.

If the blinds were 5/10, then I don't believe "$1" chips would play in a lot of rooms, so $335/$335/$330.

Brian,
I don't know of any rooms that don't use $1 chips, even when the blinds are $5/$10. The dollars are used for the rake, and tips for dealers. A tournament is a different story and your answer would be correct.

Rooms that have a time charge for $5/$10 no limit and no rake usually do not use $1 chips, except for tokes.

Except for tokes. Thanks for agreeing with me. Most rooms charge $6 or $7 per half hour so they still need $1 chips even when it's a time session.

They should just tip the dealer $5's

If dealer tokes were set at $5 minimum, then there would be NO TOKES from me.  The dealers at my local room are BARELY worth a $1 toke, much less anything more.  If we still had quarters on the table, they would mostly get 1 or maybe 2.  Some of the dealers are just plain worthless!!  It doesn't do any good to complain since the Native Americans in charge don't have a single clue how to run ANY business, much less a casino.
